József Váradi is the founder and CEO of Wizz Air.  Before conceiving the idea of Wizz Air, Mr. Váradi led MALEV Hungarian Airlines between 2001 and 2003. During his time as CEO, the company underwent a major turnaround program including organizational restructuring and complete fleet renewal. The change resulted in a significant improvement of results, cutting losses by 80%. Mr. Váradi graduated from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and holds a Master’s Degree in Economics. He also obtained a Master of Laws from the University of London and completed the International Directorship program at INSEAD.

He personally executed 104 transactions with a total value of US$66.8 billion as lead manager/bookrunner. At the same time he has also significant experience in the operations field as he has been CEO of Regional Jet. He has worked in Estonian Aviation Academy, airBaltic, Estonian Air, Tallinn Airport, Lufthansa Consulting and Nordic Aviation Company (several positions). He is still one of the partners of a consultancy firm NA Advisory. Sven is at present managing director of Adria Airways, Star Alliance carrier from Slovenia.

Currently, he is the Group Internal Audit Director of Aegean Airlines. He offers his services and know-how as a member of Olympic Air’s Board of Directors and as a member of the Audit Committee of the Hellenic Institute of Internal Auditors. At the same time, he is a Senior Council Member at the Association of Certified Public Accountants International (ACPAI), representing the countries of the Mediterranean. Dr. Marios Menexiadis is an affiliate professor in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in Escem France, Makedonia University, and European University in Cyprus.

He started his career in aviation after graduating with a doctorate in Engineering from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland. Initially he working for British Aerospace who at the time manufactured small commercial commuter aircraft. During his time with BAE Systems, he moved with his family to Toulouse, France where he was involved in helping create the joint venture with ATR and BAE Systems. Around 18 years ago, he created his own company, CoreData Limited, which focused on providing airlines, MROs, OEMS and aircraft supply chain companies with solutions that could help them drive value from the large amounts of data they were accumulating. CoreData was a successful venture and he finally sold the company to Rolls Royce. Since then he has been working with customers to improve efficiencies by using their own data and continues to do this with Ubisense.
